CONNECT WITH ME

‘Healing trauma is not about learning to navigate the world outside, its about learning to navigate the world within

― GABOR MATE

Every part of you has a story worth hearing.

Hi, I’m Katharina Bleinis, a Master’s-level intern counsellor completing my practicum under the clinical supervision of Shivani Wells-Shaw. My approach is somatic, meaning we won’t just talk about your experiences but we’ll also slow down and notice what’s happening inside, in real time. I believe the body holds a lot of wisdom, even if it doesn’t always feel that way, and my role is to support you in building a safer, more understanding relationship with it.

I support adults and youth navigating the impacts of trauma. Whether from a single overwhelming experience or the accumulation of smaller wounds over time, these experiences can live in the body and shape how we feel, relate, and move through the world. Together, we gently come into relationship with these patterns. However, not as flaws, but as adaptive responses that once helped you get through.

I am currently accepting new clients for individual therapy at a student rate, offering sessions in person at the Shivani Wells Clinic in Vancouver and online for residents across British Columbia.

My Approach

SOMATIC

Our bodies are always communicating with us. In our work together, I often return to noticing what is happening inside for you by exploring sensation, posture, and bodily impulses as entry points for understanding how earlier experiences have shaped your way of being and your survival patterns.

PARTS WORK

I believe that we can hold multiple emotions and experiences at once. These inner experiences are often understood as “parts.” Together we explore how to develop a more understanding relationship with these parts and the roles they carry.

RELATIONAL

Therapy is not something that happens in isolation. It is a relationship between two nervous systems continually sensing and responding to one another. In our work together, we pay attention to what unfolds between us as a pathway toward safety, trust, and connection.
