Trauma Therapy and Somatic Therapy in Squamish and Online Across British Columbia

Hi, I’m Katharina Bleinis, MCP

I am a Pre-Licensed therapist with a Master of Counselling Psychology offering trauma therapy, somatic therapy, and parts work therapy in Squamish and online across British Columbia.

I support neurodiverse and neurotypical folks that are carrying the lasting impacts of complex, developmental, and relational trauma. While these experiences may have happened years ago, they continue to shape how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world around us.

You may notice this showing up as hypervigilance, anxiety, dissociation, people-pleasing, a need for reassurance, fear of conflict or anger, chronic guilt or shame, or relationship patterns that leave you longing for closeness while simultaneously fearing it, or pushing it away – which is otherwise known and labelled by the medical model as ‘Borderline Personality Disorder’.

These are not signs that something is wrong with you, but rather adaptive ways of coping that developed in response to experiences that once felt too overwhelming, unsafe, or unsupported.

Ways We Can Work Together

COUNSELLING & TRAUMA THERAPY

Individual counselling, Youth counselling, Trauma therapy and Somatic therapy

My Approach

SOMATIC

Our bodies are always communicating with us. In our work together, I often invite attention to what is happening internally by exploring sensation, posture, and impulses as entry points into understanding what the body may be holding and expressing that isn’t yet in conscious awareness.

PARTS WORK

I believe that we can hold multiple emotions and experiences at once. These inner experiences are often understood as “parts.” Together we explore how to develop a more understanding relationship with these parts and the roles they carry.

RELATIONAL

Therapy is not something that happens in isolation. It is a relationship between two nervous systems continually sensing and responding to one another. In our work together, we pay attention to what unfolds between us as a pathway toward safety, trust, and connection.
